Relationships

Well this is my 1st blog, so thought of starting with something very close to my heart.

Relationships. This term is probably extremely underestimated. Most of us don't give it its due importance. And as we enter the higher realms of life, relationships seemingly get replaced by "networking".

But for me, all the relations that we make in in this world are our most treasured possession. Everything else will come and go, but it is the relationships that we make that stand by us, in good times as well as bad. Be it our friends, the special one or our family members.

Close friends are hard to come by, and if we have any, they are the ones never to be left, to always be held onto, to be truly treasured.

We all have our own worlds, the world of our aquaintainces , our friends and family, but what is most important is our inner world. The world that consists of a select few members; our family, our special friends and the one we love.
What I believe is that it is this "inner world" that we would derive a lot of our happiness from. If our inner world is not intact, nothing outside it would matter. No amount of success, no amount of money can bring us happiness if our inner world in in tatters. Treasuring, nurturing and shouldering the responsibility of the happiness and joy of this inner world would eventually only help us achieve greater things in life.

Ok, now being a little less general, I have personally had treasured friends, friends from whom I have learnt a lot, who inspired me to achieve things that seemed improbable, if not impossible, till only a couple of years back. A lot of what I have managed to do is coz of these few friends that I luckily managed to have. They stood by me through the extreme lows of my life, rejoiced at the smallest success, guided me, inspired me. Without them, where would I have been, god alone knows. May be that is why they are what matter to me the most, not materialistic things.
Every close friend I make, even today, are what matter to me the most

Having said this, I am not rebuking materialistic things in anyway. But for me, they only seem to the "hygiene" factors in life (as OB told us.. :-) )

But this post is dedicated to one special person in my life, someone who was an integral part of me for the last so many years.  I lost that person largely due to my own short comings and carelessness. Having lost her, I now truly understand the value of each and every relationship in my life. They are what no amount of money or fame can buy us. I have learnt a lot in the past few months, realised a lot of things. I know what I have lost can never be brought back. All I can truly hope is that what I have learnt, will stand me in good stead for the life to come.

Personally, if you have a some special in your life, hold onto that person with all your might, however imperfect that person may seem, coz it is in working out the relationship despite all the imperfections, that truly lies the test, and eventually, the happiness of the relationship.

This post is not meant to be didactic in anyway, I just want to tell a few people that no matter how successful we get in life, if we let go off that someone special in our chase for success, or impair our relationships on our way to the top (assuming we get there.. ;-) ) all the success, results to nothing.

However far or near they may be, our loved ones are those we can truly bank upon in times of need

As someone rightly said, "It is our relations, our friendships that will outlive and outlast all our successes and failures"

That is all for now
Thank you for reading so patiently... :-)

  5. Hygiene factors was the only borrowed concept and the remaining article was straight from your heart Rishi.Reading this forced me to contemplate many things.
Well and at the end, that disclaimer isnt really necessary as this is your blog and everyone has a viewpoint with which many may not agree but ultimately this thinking of one is the thing which makes one unique.
